In a roundabout way, Frank and Natalie met through Punk Metal Karaoke in New York City,
a sometimes on-again off again vice for the pair. The event features a live band
where a patron can get on stage and act out their inner rock star fantasies.
The pair had been going separately over the course of several years, running close to each other
in several small circles, and though they never quite connected in the audience,
the pair would spy each other here and there.
All things culminated during the band’s “final” stint in 2006 (they’ve since resumed sporadic activity
throughout the east village), where Frank performed David Bowie’s ‘Suffragette City’
before Natalie scurried off with the beginnings of cold. Just a few days later, Frank spotted Natalie
on one of those pesky social networking sites and dropped a note. The two began furiously emailing
and went on their first date, a Sunday morning brunch at the Telephone Bar, the first of several untraditional events to come.
The rest, so the cliché says, was history.
In further proof that it was fate that these two meet,
we would like to draw your attention to a photo recently discovered on Frank's computer.
This photo was taken at Frank's first Punk Metal Karaoke experience,
just two days after he moved to the big city. Frank casually snapped a shot
of his friend, but if you'll take special note of the girl in the background complete with the red arrows
....yes, it's Natalie! This photo has been on Frank's computer for years --
his future wife just waiting to be discovered. They can't help but wonder how many other occasions
they must have passed within feet of each other before they were finally destined to meet.
